A favourite conservation area set the scene for what would be a perfect day hiking in nature. We were greeted with rich autumn hues in every direction save for a few pockets that were dominantly bright yellow.
Our hike began with a trek down a forest path, along which we stopped to explore small creeks and ponds. Carefully searching among the wet rocks, we discovered frogs, toads and eventually an elusive salamander. In time we made our way to a fork in the path and followed a river upstream. Climbing over many rocks and fallen trees along the way, we reached our lunch destination; a gently cascading waterfall.
The return journey to the trailhead had us once again passing landscapes that were simply too perfect to pass up. Appropriately coloured outfits had been packed just in case, and a little fall photoshoot was just way to finish the day.
